Who operates the service
Perfect Shot Club operates this service and is responsible for the privacy practices described in this policy.
Privacy contact: privacy@perfectshot.club.
Information we collect
Account information: name or username, email address, avatar, Clerk account identifiers, authentication activity, role, temperature preference, trial or subscription status, and related account settings.
Espresso tracking information: beans, roasters, origins, roast and bag-open dates, gear, grinder settings, espresso machine settings, shot logs, recipes, taste notes, ratings, favorites, notes, and optional images when image features are available.
Community information: public recipes, public recipe notes, votes, comments, catalog submissions, moderation status, and public username or profile details shown with community activity.
Technical information: device and browser details, IP address, approximate location derived from network data, cookies or similar session technology, logs, security events, and pages or features used.
How we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts, keep private espresso data scoped to the right user, show dashboards and analytics, save recipes, support explicit public sharing, moderate community content, debug and improve the service, and manage trial or subscription features.
If paid subscriptions are made available, payment-related account records may be used to manage trial status, billing status, renewal, cancellation, and access to paid features.
Private and public content
Your beans, gear, private shot logs, private recipes, private notes, and account settings are private by default.
Public recipes, public recipe notes, votes, comments, and public catalog submissions are visible to other users and may be reviewed, moderated, removed, indexed, or used to improve community starting-point recommendations.
Do not publish content that you want to keep private. Do not include passwords, private addresses, payment data, or other sensitive personal information in recipe names, notes, comments, or catalog submissions.
Service providers
We use service providers to run the app. Providers may include Clerk for authentication and account management, a hosted Postgres provider such as Neon for database storage, Vercel or a similar host for deployment and logs, and Stripe or another payment processor for billing.
These providers process information only as needed to operate, secure, host, authenticate, support, or improve Perfect Shot Club.
Cookies and sessions
Perfect Shot Club and Clerk use cookies or similar browser storage to keep users signed in, protect sessions, remember preferences such as theme, and secure account flows.
We do not sell personal information, share personal information for targeted advertising, or use advertising cookies. If that changes, this policy will be updated before those practices begin.
Retention, requests, and deletion
We keep account, logging, recipe, and community information while your account is active or as needed to operate the service, resolve disputes, preserve security, comply with law, or maintain moderation records.
You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal information by contacting us. Some public content, moderation records, backup data, or legal/security records may remain for a reasonable period when needed.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including authenticated routes, server-side authorization checks, validated inputs, database access through typed query tools, private environment variables, and service providers designed for secure hosting and authentication.
No online service can guarantee perfect security. Please use a strong password or supported sign-in provider and contact us if you believe your account or data may be at risk.
Children
Perfect Shot Club is intended for users who are at least 13 years old. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to delete it or disable the account.
Policy changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. Material changes should be reflected by updating the date on this page and, when appropriate, adding in-app notice.
